Family and Community Engagement (FaCE) Programme
At Abersychan school we have recently started a Family and Community Engagement (FaCE) programme which involves working with teachers, governors, community groups and support services to help and support parents and carers in their child's education. As part of the work we were recently successful in an application to ENGIE for the sum of £250. This is being used to set up a monthly Tea/Coffee event for parents and carers. The aims of the project are to strengthen family engagement, improve pupil attendance behaviour and achievement and make a positive contribution to the community.
FaCE officer Rob Barrrowdale explains in more detail the work 'We want to provide a continuous opportunity for pupils and families to feel more supported whilst at Abersychan School and feel that a tea/coffee style informal gathering on a monthly basis would be an excellent opportunity to do just that. As a school we are extremely grateful to ENGIE for their support in this matter and look forward to hopefully working with them in the future'
